  • JE James a few weeks back sent me a light I paid £80 for (stated as new), I received a box that had clearly been opened by very grubby hands more than once, The light had been used as it was marked up, had no mounting bits for the battery or the light itself.
When queried they just said send it back & I insisted on a pre paid return label (under Sale of goods act it's their responsibility to pay for returns for faulty goods) which I printed out.
Hassle & time conuming and in no way should it have been advertised as new when it wasn't even complete, luckily the light was shite anyway.

  • You were willing to shell out 80 notes on a shite light?

Would you like to buy some of my magic beans?

  • Ok, been hesitant to do this, but I've now come to the conclusion that I've been fucked over, and the world must see..

The 12th of December '11 I contacted brain-flick (real name known) to buy these wheels.. He agreed to post them to me in the Netherlands, and I paid via bank transfer via a friend of mine on here, since paypal wasn't an option..
He was busy, but agreed to send them somewhere between Christmas and the first week of new year's, when he had time..

I didn't hear nuttin'.. He wasn't online too, so not sure he got my PM's..

Then, end of Jan, I started this thread.. With result, he promised to send 'm right there and then..

I didn't receive nuttin'.. Went on stalking Max from above thread to give him headsups, who in the end gave me bf's emailadress because he was fed up with me.. I emailed, to be sure he got my messages..

He responded a week later with apologies, busy with his business, a lot of the time in Germany blabla, no time to post up till then, but he now would post them since he got time, since I really wanted those wheels..

I didn't hear nuttin' and didn't receive nuttin'.. Despite several emails his way, of which the last I offered to go for the refund because I'd lost hope they would ever get my way..

So, now I'd like to get my money (100 smackeroo's) back. Still sad about the wheels though. I know several of you lot know him personally. Tell him he has fucked up, and the decent thing to do is get me my money's back.. At least..

    Thanks, sad face though..

  • that's not right, name and shame!

  • name and shame rodolfo, although semantically "didn't receive nuttin'" implies the opposite..

  • We all needs rules to follow and work in a peaceful environment.

  • I think Fieldcoil should be given a slap on the wrist, but given a second chance. I can see how things can get messed up in sale like they have there. The vilification (sorry, been playing Fallout) he seems to have received seems a bit disproportionate as does the buyer's reaction.

  • Agree a sale then bail cos someone else dangles a few more quid in front of you?
Bad trader for sure. This is supposed to be a friendly place to sell based on honour and trust(sorry, been reading Game of Thrones).
Disproportionate response I'd agree, but still a massively cunty way to go about selling stuff.

the forum certainly seems to have it's collective panties* in a bunch this week.

*or boxers/briefs/underrooos/kecks whatever not being sexist.

  • ^^ Yeah I know, it's not great, but looks like a shade of grey to me rather than all out black.

But I guess I'm not the pissed off buyer. FWIW I don't know Fieldcoil nor have I bought something from him/her.

  • His thread is now closed but his apology seems sincere and I can't imagine he will repeat his mistake.

  • What is the best process for naming/shaming a buyer that has taken an item from me and not paid? Is it a link here/a new thread?

  • keep it in this thread I think? Will keep it neat and organised

  • How did they get an item from you without paying?

  • Because they posted on here that they wanted a Thomson inline seatpost. I had one lying around, pm'd the guy a pic and said if he wanted it, all he had to do was make a donation to a kids charity I run (I left the amount up to him). He rode over and picked it up and said he'd put the money in on justgiving. He hadn't paid after a couple of weeks. I pm'd him to 'remind' him and he said he didn't have any noney, but he'd do it soon. I waited a couple of weeks and sent him a reminder. I know he has seen the reminder, but still no donation.

I went on trust - the bloke looked me in the face and took the seatpost. He had a decent lo-pro.

Just the principle of it I guess - LFGSS is a community within the wider cycling community, everyone I have dealt with on here previously has been honest and it is guys like this that leave a sour taste and stop the trust.

  • name and shame

  • What a shitty move.
