very smart frame at a good price. elegant and neat.

so its 58x56, I presume 27.2 sp, whats the clearance like on the forks, reckon you could get 27s in there?
-
• #29
Don't think so.
-
• #30
Hmm... Might be a bit tight, I've had 23s in no probs, maybe even 25s... I can imagine if they do fit 27s would very very tight. They'd also look hideous on here. And yep, 27.2!

• #31
27 inches or 27 millimeters?
-
• #32
^This is an important difference, so I've been told.

my current top tube length is 55cm. with 70mm stem, will it be a problem if i buy this frame and use 50mm stem?

PM's replied to... oh and 27 wheels, sorry, my head is full of tyre sizes atm (clearance issues a couple of other bikes I am building atm) I doubt they would... although maybe I did hear of someone thinking they came with 27's, but pretty sure they were wrong.
-
• #36
yeah I meant 27 inch wheels... just asked cause the clearance seems like it could take it, just cant see the brake bridge clearance that well...
if you dont think it would take them then no worries.. its a stunner but not quite right for me.

• #37
With 20's on it atm (tyres) I can get my little finger between the tyre and the bottom of the forks.
I am sure such a technical and precise way of measuring is all you need to know to answer your question. -

Awesome frame Chris. The new one must be pretty special. Very good price too, I thought this would have been snapped up already.
-
• #39
He could've sold it to me if he hadn't dithered and made me buy something else.
-
• #40
Thanks guys!
I wish I had sold it to you, that way I would be on my new frame by now (something Italinan I have found, somewhere...) and I would have no fears of someone building something awful with this.
Despite numerous PM's it hasn't sold, going to take it off the market and give it a refurb. Tough to let it go anyway... -
• #41
Still interested! I'd send you a photo so you could tell if the build was awful or not :)
-
• #42
I would be willing to let this go for £220 to the right home... it will need a replay though to be honest, and is best viewed.

I have a 78 model. Definitely wouldn't take 27s. I run 700x25cs.

Getting itchy for a new project again so dropping to £215 for someone who'll treat it right.

• #45
Absolute bargain.

Hi there!
Would you consider shipping to Athens, Greece? How much would the shipping cost approximately?
Thank you,
E. -

-
• #48
Hi, sorry, won't ship as it is a world of headaches.
I'll grab a pic of the ding asap, in the meantime here is one of it in it's current state, on the train...
