skully, sorry i didn't look at this before i went - mass was fantastic, one of the best i've been on (i haven't been in a while, tho). we went over the bridge and then straight up to euston, turned left and headed all the way to paddington, through both the underpass and the overpass. fantastic! then, lots of little streets down through queensway, back along hyde park to marble arch, down to victoria and around to parliament square. obligatory circling around the green (actually in the green!) by some, while the rest hung out for a little while. from there, up to trafalgar square, again a bit of a stop, starting to get smaller, up tottenham court road, then hung a right over towards gower street/bloomsbury again - but i drifted off at this point as it was about half nine and i needed to get food.

ps, i missed the madness above - certainly never saw anything like that... i suspect it was because it was a pretty big mass and i think we actually probably got split into several smaller groups...

Again, may need a phone number for friday if I have to be a bit late... if anyone can oblige I'd appreciate it. I have an idea that a non-forum pal should be there, but just in case he doesn't answer ...

Great CM last night. Good to see one or two fixieskiddas.
Some silly routefinding after battersea park, was hoping we'd head across the south side along the river, then the longboard steerers took us back towards Chelsea again.

It is a wonder that this thing is still going. It started way back in May 1995. It was an offshoot of the protest group Reclaim the Streets. I have been on a few of these bike rides which are always chaotic. Incidently one of its founders Jim Sutton turned out to be an undercover cop see this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd2UJJoZWCA

Critical Mass is such a great way to play in the city, and actually see some of it from a bike without rushing past. Tonight will be great. London's pretty bonkers this week! Tempted to stay home rather than go where I'm meant to be today to ride. Hmmmm.
