There's a big difference between movies filmed in 3D and films converted to 3D. The dim shite you are referring to are the converted films and the majority of films currently in the cinema. Proper 3D, IMAX 3D, is pretty amazing.
That said I have to agree with the rest of the page, 2D is perfectly fine for me, 3D doesn't make the filmI thought it's the polarization filters on the projectors that dim it. There are also problems
in cinemas that show 2d/3d that the projectionists don't remove the filter for the 2d films.
then both suffer. -

There is that. But the quality of a converted film isn't as good as a movie filmed from the start in 3D. Take Avatar. It wasn't too dark and the 3D was very good because it wasn't converted and try could compensate for the colour loss, which is something like 30% apparently. Compare that to the newest Pirates of the Carribean which was converted and you see the difference. I spent the entire film without the glasses on and lived with the weird picture quality because I couldn't see shit.
I still prefer 2D and well filmed 2D films, like Christopher Nolan's recent work, who is pretty opposed to 3D
TL;DR
3D could be good but imo 2D is still better -

It doesn't happen often but I do agree with GA2G. The old Bond movies if rebooted would make a killing. Which is why the franchise is never going to die.
'unhandsome Bond' - I don't think the woman populous would agree with you on that point.
By unhandsome, I didn't mean ugly. I think he is very attractive, in his physique, and the way he carries himself; his manner of speaking exudes the confidence of someone very at ease with themselves. And, in my experience, women may say they like a man that makes them laugh, but what I've seen, is that they like a man that is confident even more, and this is why I think women would find him very sexually attractive.
Stunningly, wiganwill thought he should neg-rep me for my opinion on someone's well documented looks. Will, please dear, do grow up. It may sound rich coming from me, juvenile military jet fancier that I am, but I'm quite serious.
I have as much right to say I fancy Beth Ditto (and I do actually think she is sexy, and beautiful....no pisstake.....skinny girls are not attractive to me), as I do to say that Daniel Craig is unhandsome.
Please also, do not try to alter my behaviour, or try to influence my tastes in future. I am fully grown up thanks, and I thought you would appreciate that we can all be very different. I wouldn't say what you are trying to do is disappointing, because its worse than that - it is tragic.

I won't be neg-repping you. I want everyone to see this, and they can make up their own minds. Mine won't be changed.

Ten minute interview with Wes A. At ten to nine on film 4
Just before showing fantastic Mr fox againA whole night of his films, in fact. I just watched Rushmore for the first time in ages, I loved it more than ever. I'm really looking forward to Moonrise Kingdom, a new Wes Anderson film with Bill Murray is something to get excited about.
In the Prometheus 2D/3D debate, ordinarily I go for 2D without thinking about it. But this time... it's Ridley Scott making an Alien film. He's not to make a crass mess of the 3D, is he?

Ridley Scott? I'm sure he did something major at one time, don't know about whether 3d is his forte

I feel that 3D was a pathetic stop-gap between normal 2D and the holographic media, which is only a few decades away. 2D is fine for me personally , and I just cannot see the point of wearing silly glasses for a pretty poor experience. Since when was 2D not good enough? I find that films appear more realistic depending on sound engineering, and the lighting and camera shot selections.
One of my favourite films, North by Northwest, has the audience wrapped up in the hero's escapades, and at an emotional level - take the scene with the crop duster aeroplane. 3D wasn't necessary there, nor in any other great film I can think of.
An utter con job.
North by Northwest is an amazing film. WE AGREE!!

Having (thankfully?!) never met WagonWheel, I can't judge on whether or not he has "matinee idol" looks...

The Dictator is funny and not as satirical nor as offensive as it could have been. (Though perhaps after borat i am immune), apart from one section which really hit the mark (no spoiler).
The Prometheus trailer started well then turned into alien/generic space opera clone

I saw The Dictator a couple of night ago too. I thought it was quite good, funnier than Bruno, but not as good as Borat. I also think that it was intentionally done that way to facilitate the bit that 'hit the mark'.
I want to go see the new Piranha movie, but no one else want to go see it :-( Actually I don't think it is on any more, so will wait for DVD.
This weekend gonna see Moonrise Kingdom for sure. Maybe The Raid.
