• Oh yes, I've worked out one way that the image I called potato-chopped, could actually be right.........If it is a still from a movie camera, that was on a sturdy tripod. At 24-25 frames per second, it would have caught it. A digital movie camera could have done it also. Though I think this method would have had motion blur in the plane, with the background being sharp.....if panning was not used.

    Conventional movie cameras have a shutter speed which is roughly half their frame rate, so typically about 1/48th of a second. They capture a significant amount of motion blur and wouldn't be able to freeze a fast-moving subject against the background.
