Nice groove, great voice and laudably fetishishtic attention to detail production wise. But i find it's so overly reverent to it's influences it's become pretty much straight-up pastiche. And it's so cautious. Where's the swagger and attitude? The rough edges and the human touch? It's all far to clean for my tastes.
My main gripe though is that the songwriting is pissweak. The lyrics in partiicular are apallingly trite. I know she's still young and all but really the whole things reeks of style over substance. Where's the wit and spark? Where's the interesting twist that makes a riff, a chord progression or a lyric anything other what what it's painfully obvious it's going to be... it's not there for me. I just find it really uninspiring, dull and safe. Gimme the Dirtbombs over these guys anyday.
