I know with MTB chains that shimano offer absolutly the worst chains possible. I bought 3x XTR 9spd in about 2004 to go with new XT cassette, rear mech, cranks etc. The first chain hit the wear LIMIT of 0.1 on the scale within a week (150miles), and the next two faired a bit better but were constantly snapping whilst out riding in the woods, never known anything like it. Connex/Wippermen and Sram for me, everytime.
Interesting comparison!
