You need to focus on road parts, as they are themselves more weight focused. I have a gone through a load of weenie builds in my mind over the years. I'd probably go with an alu frame, road forks, road cranks, road front hub etc, and base the wheels around some light kinlin rims.
If your budget is higher you could use more carbon than alu.
6Kg would be easy, and thats while keeping an eye on toughness and price.
