  • So, I've got quite a few projects about to kick off (well in exactly 2 weeks), having spent the cash I'd saved up from working, and the exercise trial, and the many, many sales threads.

    1. Telfer Fixed TT/ Training Bike:
      ![](http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTA2NlgxNjAw/$(KGrHqZHJ!4E9qHIuLeNBPgenP!LIw~~60_12.JPG)
This had some pretty shoddy paint-work and was enough of a steal that I took it to Vernon Barker in Derbyshire to get Track Ends fitted.
      Kit List:
Cadence Race Face Cranks (spares box)
Profile Bullhorns and TT bars (spares box)
Mavic CXP33 650c front, Campag Omega V rear.
Long as hell seatpost (spares box)

    2. Road Bike for Grandparents house.

I spend about 1 weekend a month in Devon at the moment (a tough life!) helping out set up a smallholding which is going to be my dad's retirement 'job'.
Seeing as no-one wanted my stickered up winter frame, I thought I might as well put it to good use! And so its getting the parts from the bike below. (Sram Force) and some Rolf Vectors. (temporarily it will live in London so I can train on something when I'm down there.
      Kit List:
      Rolf Vector Wheelset (spares box)
      Full SRAM Force carbon Groupset.
      Fairly boring stem and bars.

    3. Road Fixed for London.

As fun as this is to ride geared- I can't help thinking it would be more fun as a day to day bike when I'm in London.
Parts staying- the Cranks- different chainring.
Adding a wheelset and some risers/ bullhorns depending on whether I want to go for a distance ride or a jaunt around town.
      Kit list:
      Ultegra converted Crank.
      Black wheelset
      Thomson Stem + risers.
      etc.

    4. Cannondale Six13 Road Bike.
This will be my main road bike, and when the final project arrives late in the year it will be shifted to London, as a training bike there. I expect to get out on it most weekends, as I've discovered some spectacular local rides, any summer evenings (and probably some winter ones)- as I've now got a regular riding buddy as well- which is nice.
It also allows me to unleash my weight weenie side.
      Kit List:
      SI Hollowgram cranks.
      Full DA 7800 otherwise
      C24 Carbon wheelset

    5. Watch this space-
Suspect a monster cross SS but may sell frame- depends on house situation next year.
Maybe a CX bike (depending on ebay luck)- entering local league.
      Steel road bike.

Photos as and when I get things organised.
And it feels weird to have such a narcissistic thread. But will allow me to track the progress well I think.

This had some pretty shoddy paint-work and was enough of a steal that I took it to Vernon Barker in Derbyshire to get Track Ends fitted.
Finishing Kit involves Cadence Cranks, and a nice wheelset, and a tonne of cogs/ chainrings to fine tune the gear ratio.

Please, please, please don't do a Swine.... make sure you get a decent length of post in there!

  • His seat tube snap or something?^

Out of interest eyebrows, what's the going rate for track ends fitting?

  • £100 seems to be the standard from the 5 people I rang.
Mercian charge £110 and take a while.
Vernon had it done in about a week.
Good bloke- the shop is like stepping back in time to what I imagine Holdsworth would have been like when it was first set up.

He can also do Aluminium and Titanium.

On the note of the seatpost- I've got that covered....

I'm sure there are places that will do it cheaper. I'll report back fully on the process tmw when I go pick it up- and maybe get some photos of the shop.

I can't wait to do some proper riding.
The trial has banned me from doing any as it would fuck with the results, but it has meant that I've had a steady stream of cash to indulge my obsession.

  • So I got a little bored/ stressed today and started/ Finished some things.

Still to do- Index the road bike properly.
Get a new BB and a wheelset for the Ti Bike and build (fingers crossed tmw morning)
Receive the Cannondale and build that.
    Saddles...

Vernon Barker- can't recommend him enough- even regreased the headset, BB etc so now they're super smooth (tm).

And yep the Telfer is lo-pro acc the rules of Tester. And it feels quick.

    Excuse the iPhone photos.
    Better ones later/ tmw/ someday.

  • Need bullhorns, and probably a longer stem for the TiBike.
The risers and short stem on it at the moment are fun, but its not right.
    Telfer is perfect.
Road bikes will wait till Cannondale arrives...

Also- can't help but feel the TiBike is screaming out for a slave wheelset.

  • Telfer

    New Track ends:

    TiBike (slack chain):

I can't help but think the TiBike also needs a new fork.

  • sorry, H., but that brake lever looks like something on its way to anti-
was there any other way or is this a short-term solution?

  • Till Bullhorns (I assume you mean TiBike)
Gonna change the brake too- complete PITA to set up.

  • Telfer looks meaan here

  • Its pretty fun to ride. Currently silently mocking me at the end of my desk whilst I revise.

  • Keep trying to grab an eBay bargain on aero bars, yet to get lucky!
And yeah I know the feeling continues procrastinating

  • You've inspired me.

    I won these on fleabay.....

...and will be putting them on this...

    Gonna look pretty ugly.

  • But they'll feel so right!
    Enjoy it.

  • My deepening love for the BeeMC has induced the need to make the BJ more interestring.

Since that pic I've lightened the wheels, and altered the position to a more aggressive one. With the extensions it'll be great for my 25km stints around the local lake. Should be a fun set-up.

  • What wheels?

Are you not tempted by a 50mm carbon front?

  • I'd rebuild the hubs of the Ti bike into some AM 420s. Nice and deep, light, and alu. I'm probably being boring and logical though.

    Got lucky!

  • Cool pad covers^

obvs not really proper aero bars, but still a cheap alternative/bodge if it's not for anything too serious.

  • My spinachi's seem to have a better shape (havent recieved them yet). I'm looking into a bodging some arm rests onto my bars.

  • Woo! Perfect fit.

    Weight- c. 7kgs/ 15 lbs...
Could easily shed it, but I'll focus on losing the extra from me.
(total rider+ bike is 76kg today)

  • New project also- re gear the Beater, needs to be lower.
Also put a rear rack so I can carry a summer BBQ entirely by bike...
