It's a term of abuse used by the politically correct to prejudicially label anybody who doesn't agree with them. It relies for it's effect on a presumption that all men in certain economic categories will have the same social attitudes, so it's exactly the kind of bigotry the user is usually trying to decry, although the cognitive dissonance doesn't occur because the PC mind is usually an irony free zone.

If people were NICER to each other...there would be no prejudice, thus no need for EVERYONE to 'try not to be offended'...thus less effort/energy/pointless aggression wasted in the first place...
