Singlespeed Pub Bike/Beater for sale
Frame is steel, lugged, plain gauge, nothing fancy, unbranded and measures 53.5cm c-t. It's straight and true with no dents or dings but a fair few chips and scratches to the paintwork.
Front wheel is an old Maillard racer wheel. Rear is unknown flip-flop with a 16t freewheel. Fixed side threads look ok but are completely untested!
Chainset is RPM(I think) with a 39t chainring.
Calipers and levers are Weinemann.
Blah, blah, blah....
All in all, a good solid pub bike but nothing fancy.
£95 ono

What kinda thing you got in mind? Also, some idea of budget?

An old road bike, a decent brand, budget really depends on how complete the bike and quality of the components.

I dont mind building the components up over time so would prefer a decent frame to build on.

to build up fixed or geared?
id list your requirements of the frame, as this will narrow it down.....
welcome to the forum ;)

Thanks. I dont actually live in Newcastle but have family there so thought I might try here in my search for a bike.
I was thinking a fixed gear, there is a geared road bike in my house that I can use when I want, so I would like to build up a fixed road bike.
- I think it would be better if it was frame and forks only
- Size 54 maybe 52
- Ideally I would like a decent brand that I can keep and gradually improve the components on.
- I would like presentable and original paint especially if it is on a frame which is worth keeping original but if needs be I can get a respray done by a car painter friend.
