Sort-of memes that are cracking you up at the moment

That's a problem, not the problem. It would be nice if racism, sexism, homophobia and every other kind of ignorant, cruel and loutish name-calling were to cease, but it's never going to happen. While you're waiting for Utopia, some people are disempowering the bigots by refusing to take offence.

"We're here, we're queer, get used to it" didn't eliminate all homophobia, but it changed some people's attitudes, and it allowed more people to come out as a result, which made queer more noticeable, which made it harder for mild bigots to regard it as something "other" which had nothing to do with them. It even made it easier to use the power of the state to tackle the hardcore bigots whose attitudes will never change when their stupidity crossed over into criminality.

Owning the 'Queer' word...and people being less offensive in general about anything, be it being queer, straight, male, female, intersex, disabled, a wanker....etc...etc...etc...Are two totally different things...

the world would be a fuck sight nicer, if people were nicer...and not twats...that explained to people why they shouldn't be offended. Rational arguments count for fuck all, if they are rationalising taking the piss out of your disabled brother/sister/mother and she/he's not the one thats saying...'And so fucking what'...

It's enough to ask that he/she shouldn't have to say 'so fucking what?' in the first place...

why should it even get to the point where that person has to waste valuable air even responding to such shite?

Such shite is a total waste of the energy of the vegetable/animal/mineral that gave you such precious energy in the first place...

If you wanted to get all rational/philosphical/logical about it then that has to be the obvious answer...

Defending the right to insult someone sounds like a bunch of arse...and is only usually uttered by idiots that haven't spent most of their fucking ABC1 male lives saying 'So fucking what?'...being gay and looking queer, are two totally different fucking things, as being one and looking the other...means that while one walks by, the other one is getting shouted at and spat on...saying so fucking what means fuck all if you shouldn't have to respond in the first place...

as after you have done it about 3 times a day for 20 years it gets really fucking tiresome/tedious/trite....
