  • I also agree with the 32c's....

  • the biggest you can go (within rims limit of course).

  • just finished my Coppi Barocco. Frame is from 91 and although the c record is just about available in 91 and the shamals and flite nearly available i think the pedals look too modern. will probably try and find something else. not ridden it yet.

    need ergopowa dude.

  • Perfect bidon color ;)

  • just finished my Coppi Barocco.

    but perfect electric outlet

  • Those panniers look photo-shopped, trippy.

    They're real!

JordanCarroll - I'd go for 32mm tires, they'll give you a little more leeway in pressure choice when it comes to road conditions.

Okie doke, thanks for the advice guys :)

  • Yeah according to sheldon 32c width is the largest tyre for 15mm internal width rims, within reason. So I'll be searching for some of those size.

  • anyone know what forks i need to replace the standard crash bent ones for my 80s Batavus professional?

The ones on mine are Columbus SP. Pretty swish aero shape if you can get hold of a pair

  • need ergopowa dude.

The 2nd gen. C-Record rear mech won't support indexing. Fortunately, at least it's a really nice shift you get with that setup.

Remember to pack the jockey and pulley wheels with grease; they are adjustable cup and cone types. I'm not sure how much play you should dial in, but slightly loose is better than slightly tight, especially for the upper jockey wheel.

I've got a Schwalbe Delta Cruiser on my bike, it's not light but if you're getting 32cs that's probably not too big a consideration anyway. The puncture protection is good, they're not the most expensive, and they look good.

ta for the tip rodabod. yes im running it friction, as you say there is no indexing with 2nd gen RM, it has no slant on the parallelogram so moves too far with each click. I dont have a problem with the friction shift and just had to have that rear mech.

  • Pinarello Asolo finished! I finally found the fork I was looking for, columbus SLX baby :)

  • Fuck, current projects is so good atm!

  • Shit.
Just found out what a uniglide hub is, and that my rear wheel has one!
Would like a cassette with larger cogs, and the supposed benefits on upgrading the freehub body so I can use hyperglide are tempting... researching my options now...

  • If you can get along to a bike jumble at somepoint you can usually scrounge up uniglide cassettes for cheap, if not freehub transplant shouldn't be difficult

  • Yeah I've decided to go for the latter, found this for under a £5

and got a 11-28 hyperglide cassette, chain and some bar tape from SJS as well

thinking that'll look pretty nice on the build?

  • Few more bits to go - wheels mainly. Thinking about sticking the paselas back on.

    Pretty chuffed with it.

  • Pretty nice. Only thing it needs is bar tape to match saddle and straps.

  • ^^ what's the kerchief for?

  • being a gangsta durhhh

  • Have any photo's of you riding it?

Slightly shallower stem - sprint-sphinx-bend on albows.

  • ^^ what's the kerchief for?

It's actually for the sake of my shoulder when carrying it down the stairs in my block, but I do understand that it screams hipster.

I just took some horrible fizik brown tape off the bulls, kinda though the black origin8 grips worked... I did buy them from aaaamerica.....

Spotted this 1990s shimano 105 crankset (im still new to the scene) was wondering if a single chainring could be added to this? most 105's i've seen have 2 rings, and where would i get bolts if this is possible

  • ebay single speed chainring bolts and you have many options. make sure you buy five. Then place chainring on inner tabs of cranks and voila you have a single chainring crankset.

  • Really like your Gazzetta mate - the cranks look great. As you have the saddle quite low, I reckon a campag aero seatpost would look a treat. +1 for sticking the paselas back on it too!
