1 inch?
Right steerer tube length?
Threaded?Shove it up in there.
Also take the crown race from the old pair -

If its just the steerer tube bent you could have the entire tube replaced.

fairly sure its the forks themselves, they're also slightly twisted :( learnt never to let anyone on my bike that tells you they like fixies, and that they've had one, then crashes your bike and says 'i forgot it was a fixie, i'm not used to fixies that carry on going'

just finished my Coppi Barocco. Frame is from 91 and although the c record is just about available in 91 and the shamals and flite nearly available i think the pedals look too modern. will probably try and find something else. not ridden it yet.

Don't obsess about having everything from the same year. If you'd bought that new in 1991, you'd have upgraded as new components became available over the next few years.

That Coppi looks great. I like C-Record parts.

Just don't let anyone on it who calls it a 'fixie'. That should sort the wheat from the chaff.
I hope he's paying for your new forks!

So, finally the full pictures of my project/dream bike.
It took a bit over 6 months to finish, I've designed the minimal decals and paint job in general, including handlebars. Sourced all the components, etc. Very happy with it.Paint: Dave from Colour-Tech
Decals: Nick from H Lloyd Cyles
Assembly: Will from Mosquito Bikes

Don't listen to this jive. When you fit your Carradice, make sure it's the St Mary’s Works, Westmoreland Street address. Brook St is too early.

^^Lovely build Athila, very nicely done. You've already made it to the Bike Porn thread as well.

Sick bike Athila. Well jelly.

Aside from your peculiar seat post and saddle taste I think all the bikes you post up are awesome, even your freaxie has its place

Thanks guys, I'm ecstatic about the final build, there is a few little details that I would like to be better (the triangles should have rounded corners), but I'm working on that . :-D

I'm a big fan of Gaston and his fuck you attitude, and his admirable stable. But that seatpost thing is just wrong. I just can't stand looking at it. Can we club together and buy him some in-line seatposts?

Oh God posting this after that mega porn build of athila's...
My Wilsons cycles touring build has progressed a good deal since I last posted itfrom
to
(Ignore the bubblewrap protecting my top tube!)I've added:
- Shimano 600/Mavic MA3 wheelset with 7 speed cassette
- Tubus nova front rack
- Tubus cosmo rear rack
- full ortlieb pannier set (I already had the rear ones, just bought matching fronts)
- Campag c-record seatpost
- Honey Brooks with copper rails and rivets
- ITM stem and handlebars from Pistoffski
I'm very happy with how this is turning out and looking forward to getting it finished and wearing in that saddle after my exams!
I'm sorting out 3x7 speed STI shifters, and still to get- bartape probably honey (brooks maybe?) to match the saddle,
- rear derailleur,
- cables+housing etc
- Gumwall tyres, thinking 28c should be what i need for carrying a decent load with nice pressure and low rolling resistance?
- Shimano 600/Mavic MA3 wheelset with 7 speed cassette

Excellent advice; I've now tossed two of mine and have put my man on the hunt for the appropriate model.

Those panniers look photo-shopped, trippy.

JordanCarroll - I'd go for 32mm tires, they'll give you a little more leeway in pressure choice when it comes to road conditions.
looks right, ill keep an eye out in the classifieds, although probably not much chance of getting just the right ones, would a non original fork of similar type work?
