  • Boring story first:
My girlfriends house is about 15 miles from mine. For her birthday she asked her mom a roadbike, so she could ride to me. Her mom then asked me to build her one, she gave me 150 euro's, cause I said that I could do it for that money easily.
The theme is a bit Velo Orange -ish. So an old road frame (size 54-56) with a bit newer components.
My girlfriend is involved into this project and she really likes it, although the technical part doesn't matter to her, only the look of it.

    The real build.
I had some luck on this project right away, I bought a Peugeot Performance 5000 roadbike for only 50 euro's. The frame was 61 so far to big, even for me. So I sold the frame for 40 euro's haha.

So 10 euro's spend got me the following parts:
ITM bars and cheap Custom stem.

Some RSX levers, they didn't work first, but I read on the internet to spray some WD40 into them and now they work perfectly.

Some brakes, polished, anyone knows the type?

    300ex front and rear.

    Ofmega Linea cranks.

And the wheels, they are Airline Vuelta's, I removed the decals and then got some free NOS tires from the bikeshop where I work, they aren't identical but they do look so.

Also have this seatpost 27.0 from my Concorde. But it depends on the frame if I can use it.

Then I ordered A Brooks B17s saddle and some Fizik Honey tape. (total of about 50 euro's)

    Total costs are now 10 + 50 + 5(innertubes)= 65 euro's approx.

Still need a frame though, about size 52-54.
If I can buy this cheap we have some money left for some upgrades/cool gadgets.

    Tips and hints are welcome.
    Cheers,
    Jan
