I got my dad a wildfire S and he's very happy with it. It does everything he needs it to and is probably as quick as the desire is in use...
I know what you mean, they can't be truseted to do these things alone! (:
I think I found the galaxy ace slow compared to the deisre, but I'd probably get used to it over time.
It's up to you really, either let your dad get used to it, or kick off with the company why he tested an S2 and ended up with an Ace?
