Yeah which way are you lot arriving?
I'd love to do this ride, but I cant afford a day off at the moment.
Sort of on the way is an amazing swimming spot- if its that kinda weather:

Well I don't mind doing a loop towards Nottingham and meeting you somewhere around halfway, maybe at a pub lunch stop? I'll text Void and a few of the others. Our usual long rides crew are pretty much all polo players and sunday mornings is the normal time for that. I'm happy to do this instead though...

Be good to have you along Henry.
I can't commit to doing it this weekend, but I will look into good routes tomorrow. I saw this thread the other day then realised it's not all that far. Unlike 'brows I have nothing but free time right now so doesn't need to be a weekend for me.

Sweet, some interest! StuF, yep up for this on Sunday. Drop me a text and we'll sort it out.
Route wise I was kinda just looking at birmingham to nottingham on googlemaps (with the by foot option) and roughly making a mental note of the villages on route. Would much prefer a quieter country route than a big busy road.

I was thinking exactly this the other day, and more than just polo people post on here so what gives...

It would be good if we could leave after lunch at about 1:30. That way I can play some polo in the morning. I'm seeing a few other polo people tonight so if this is the case I may be able to persuade them to come along too

So we went to Stratford-Upon-Avon instead today. Here's a few photos:
Void knew about this world heritage woodland en route so we had a wander around
a mutant Bluebell
Stratford-upon-avon was full of tourists. I didn't like it much. Original recipe Stratford is better
Few more here if your interested
We agreed that Saturday 19th (next weekend) would be a good day to reschudule the Nottingham ride for. Who's in?

I'm riding out to Leicester that day, so I may join you for some of the journey.

Looks like yet another postponement, saturday may be off, I'll leave it up to Void to confirm

Constant postponement, lateness, changes of destination and other faffs are part of the reason these rides are so unpopular. Set a date, set a time, set a destination...stick to it, and attendance may grow.

1 initial postponement, what lateness? and destination change on the day, after not knowing if StuF was gonna turn up and the ride was going ahead. And this saturday wasnt agreed, i explained i wanted to ride to stratford and back again to try it ss before setting a new date for nottingham. I dont know why theres a list for this saturday.
Initial ride was for saturday gone, til some folks flaked and StuF suggested sunday instead, (then after polo). just trying to work with peeps to have a ride. rant over.

Nothing personal Void, but there's a history of forum 26 rides being beset with the faffs I described, not just this one.

maybe give a good 2 weeks notice, i wouldnt mind coming on this ride but it keeps being organised the week of the ride which is too short notice
Cheers. Pedometer is useless - asked it to plot a route for cycling and it's chucked me along the M42/M6. I'm up for riding it, and may well do so this weekend if I can come up with a proper route - opposite way to you though.
