  • Yeah it looked pretty bad from the footage too:

Few more pics from the garage incident here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150832502028964.408582.263030593963&type=1

  • These are interesting reads:

It would appear that Massa and Schumacher are both running out of time, I expected them to go at the end of the season, but given some of the comments made about them by their own teams it could well be earlier which would make for some very interesting discussions in the paddock.

To be honest when Schumi crashed out at the weekend my initial thoughts were that Ralph had turned up at the track, knocked out his brother, stolen his helmet and nomex, and left him bound and gagged in a hotel room somewhere.

^That is a very good documentary, but is unfortunately peas.

  • ^That is a very good documentary, but is unfortunately peas.

Thought it would be - they only seem to keep these decent racing documentaries on for a week. Same with the Group B rally program (which was even better, and far more shocking than the Grand Prix one)

  • True, but they keep being re-aired and subsequently become available on iPlayer again, the one about Jim Clarke (I believe it is called: Jim Clarke, the quiet Scotsman. I could well be wrong) is also very good if it comes up again.

  • Masa seems to be victim of Ferrari politics. My feeling is that he has been completely undermined.

  • Possibly, but he wasn't great last season and has been beyond shit so far this season.

  • I'm not a Ferrari fan, but seriously, only the best and fastest drivers should be in a Ferrari seat. Massa is nowhere near good enough. That seat is for someone that deserves it.

  • B&D will he here in a while to tell you you're all talking shit.
But I've said it all along. Massa has no business being a Ferrari driver.

I suspected that he was a shadow of his former self when he kept running into anyone passing on his left. The fact that he is so far behind his team-mate is evidence enough, Even Irvine could keep up with Schumacher, and he was a playboy rather than a professional. In a terrible car.

  • Amazing documentary on iplayer at the moment...

I love this doc, My grandad built Jim clarks Lotus 25 when he first won the world championship so its nice to see it briefly tearing about.

  • I was defending Massa a couple of pages back, however after his performance this weekend I just cannot see a way back for him, he was lapped by his team mate! There are certainly mitigating circumstances, for example his drive through penalty, however, a driver of his experience should never have been given a drive through for not slowing for a yellow.

Make no mistake the writing is on the wall for his Ferrari career, if he gets pole and wins every race between now and the end of the season he may stay but I am starting to get the impression that the management have made their decision and it is now a question of when, not if he goes and who will replace him. Di Resta; a driver who has beaten both Hamilton and Vettel in lower formulas who will probably have a greater preference to Mercedes as he knows their whole motorsport set up fairly well, or, Perez; a product of Ferrari's driver academy who shows a lot of promise.

Don't make me neg you again for spelling his name wrong!

    ;)

  • Oooops

    You rang...

There isn't anyone else good enough who's available. The last time Ferrari needed a substitute driver to replace Schumacher, Luca Badoer dusted off his Sabelt racing boots and proved that asking Mansell to come out of retirement would've been a better option. They simply don't have anyone good enough even waiting in the wings.

Masa seems to be victim of Ferrari politics. My feeling is that he has been completely undermined.

They have to have a second driver who's shite because the Alonso has a pink fit if there's focus on anyone other than him.

  • They have to have a second driver who's shite because the Alonso has a pink fit if there's focus on anyone other than him.

They also need another driver who is capable of reliably winning constructors points if they are to ever have a hope of winning that title, don't forget that in reality the team only gets kudos from one of their drivers winning the drivers championship. No matter what Alonso does to bring in sponsors Massa's recent bumbling is likely to alienate more than a few companies who are willing to splash the cash, then you end up in a situation where wholly inappropriate sponsors like Chelski are the only ones left.

  • I reckon Abramovich would love to see his boat race on a motor.

  • Mark Webber loses touch with reality claiming that fans are potentially being put off F1 by the unpredictability of the sport this year, and the number of different winners so far!

  • Precursor to him leaving Red Bull?

  • Possibly, he could be going to partake in some knuckle dragging Aussie V8 Supercars (don't get me wrong I love this but sophisticated it ain't).

  • It's about as sophisticated as rubbing two sticks together.

  • But it sounds great.

  • If there's one thing you can't accuse the Australians of it's being sophisticated.

  • Also the drunken punch-ups between the redneck spectators (usually based on whether they drive a Ford or a Vauxhall) really are something to behold.

  • That could be Bristol though.

  • I believe the correct spelling is Brizzaaaaaaaaol*hic*zider.
