Just use a piece of studding, or chop the end of a bolt of a suitable width.

thanks guys, managed to get a new lever after bodging it for a bit
There should be a little metal bar that keeps these drop levers from going all the way up. I lost it as it was really loose. Well its somewhere in my room but I dont know when it fell out so I doubt ill find it.
Can I buy a new one? What is it called?
