• .....well, a small kids one.

will swap for a nice bottle of ale. If someone wants it to just flog it on then please don't reply, it's free to someone genuine.

It has a lugged frame, porteur bars with internal cable routing, clb style reverse levers, a stem engraved with a childs name (i think). It's charming, it needs a good service and some tlc and brake cables and stuff...

pick up from haslemere. swap for a bottle of booze.

  • Holy shit that's absolutely stunning.
If I had or wanted kids I'd be all over this thing and on my way to Surrey right now.
    Le sigh.
Hope it finds a good home.

  • Fuck it. Dibs. Will do the work and gift it to a friend hopefully. Pm coming

  • my 11 year old niece would love this............

  • I'm picking it up in the morning. Can't wait to get cracking!

  • Glad to see it found a good home I struggled to resist when it was on Ebay. Why didn't anyone buy it, it's beautiful?

  • It astonishes me that bikes like this are overlooked in favour of horrible bso kids bikes from asda :(
I have a couple of good homes in mind for it once i've had the honour/joy of renovating it...

its always down to peer pressure....this one is...'old'...thus automatically unless you are living in a cultural wonderland.....this one will guarantee that all the local wankers will be tearing strips from you within about 100 yards of riding it down the street....wtf is that? look at that dusty old bike bruv...you look like an old lady blud, etc etc etc..... heaven forbid you have a bike that is well made, quite twee and cute and will last another 40 years, you need one that weighs 20 kgs and has 'sus' forks that don't work and disc brakes that will squeeaaaaakk, within 2 weeks of having it...

such is the 'fantastic capitalist consumerist nightmare' that we live in....

Easy wall out of such taunts: challenge to a race. Vintage racing bike vs full suss BSO? No contest.

    Ed you've done well there.

  • It's already stripped to it's components.
Stem and seatpost came out without a fight. Mudguards are beyond repair sadly so anyone got any shopper (20") mudguards, can pay in beer/hugs.
New pedals probably arent an option as they're tiny and French threaded, will pump full of grease and hope for the best.
Will start a cp thread in the week.

  • Oh, and Charlotte83's god daughter will be the lucky new owner.

  • C'est formidable! Lovely, Ed. (thnx for yr pm btw)

Only: are the forks a bit crashed?

  • Just the angle in the picture i think, they look ok in the flesh. If they are bent it's only by the tiniest amount. Can't see any cracking/stress in the paint or ripples etc.
Going to be popping into Sargent&Co during the week hopefully so the cotter pins can be pressed out(they're fucking in at the moment) so will get rob to take a quick look at the forks as well just to be safe.

It's properly constructed, far superior to your average gaspipe raleigh, theres nothing cheap on it, everythings as it should be, just smaller.
