  • I think that was Mo's working bike from a while back... I suspect he wasn't after hipster points at the time!

Yeah it was, although I think it had a nicer set-up when he was riding it.

  • ^^ Definately a Bob and not a Gazelle - I have an email from Gazelle denying all knowledge and an email from Bob Jackson saying - yes we built it in 1964
The thought process is documented in the "can you help identify..." thread pg 38 through 39 - what size is the Raleigh?

  • Wow thats amazing... The Raleigh is 57cm ish. Think they did it in inches so 57.5cm maybe.

  • 22.5" comes out at 57.2cm
I'll measure up the bob and my road bike when I get in tonight and drop you a line.

  • there you go - rat bikes thread uniting riders with their destined bikes.

  • ^Ha! To poke out chris's eyes, some reader's wives Gazelle "rat".. Not to be seen from the picture, but the frames has led a hard life as it was used in roller games.. Now set up in town cruiser mode with 52-20: love it..

  • Defo a real black eye that one... god damn it.

  • Sorry man.. I do love it indeed.. Toe overlap is crazy.. Must invest in some 165's and small toeclips soon.. And that probably won't help shit..

  • Looks to small for you. Might as well sell to me. Thanks.

  • TF had them on the counter a while back.....

Cheers but don't live in London, will search the web. :)

  • This is pretty cool, perfect place to post it i think.

Where did you got this from? I love to read more about it.

  • Thanks!

  • cheers much!

  • Try again, little bit of torn barn tape, a rat bike it does not make.

  • ^^ Is it me, or does that bike look a bit squashed?! o_0

Or is that a 650cc wheel on the back and it was built for a 700cc?

  • i think the fork isnt original?

  • It's not the fork, more the rear end.
The clearances are huge, the stays all look waaay too long, and the BB drop doesn't look right neither.

A lot of small frames look like that.

  • could it be a 700c frame with 650c fork and wheels?

  • I had a cheap TIG welded Danish city bike and swapped the unicrown hybrid forks for some old race forks with a remarkably similar effect.....
The back end was designed for 700c, with 32mm balloon tyres, mudguards, and generous chain tension adjustment potential!
Again, more crap than conventional rat - I got rid of it because the seatube was too slack even for a lazy git like me!

  • ^ nice but the chain is a bit slack...
E:and whats up with the seat post?
