Well, it turns out what I thought was a two hour exam is a three hour exam, so definitely can't take the train I booked. Ah well, just have to bite the bullet and buy another ticket
On the musician front, it's mainly the record labels that lose out. Musicians get most fo their money from live shows anyway, which are on the increase in number and ticket price, so the musicians are all good as far as i'm concerned
