• anyone in se23 or nw london with a crank puller?

  • Does anyone Hackney way have an electric tile cutter? The one that looks like a mini table saw. Tiler also welcome.

  • anyone in se23 or nw london with a crank puller?

I have a crank puller in SE23 if you wanna borrow it.

Does anyone have a hacksaw I can borrow? Not a junior, one big enough to saw a quill stem off. It's seized in forks, and I don't want to twist them too 'ard in case I bend them.
My thinking is that I'll saw the stem off so I can get the forks out the frame, then take a blowtorch to the steerer. I've tried the drain cleaner (strong alkali) which nicely stripped the anodising on the stem but hasn't loosened it up at all.
I've tried twisting it and hammering it through from the other side but no joy.
Any other tips before I get medieval? Stem is already fucked by the way, the last owner sawed half way through it.
    Ta.

  • Anyone have one of these???

  • Might as well list.
    In SE23 I have:

    Chain whip
    Splined Freehub tool (Shimano only?)
Crank puller with 14/15mm socket. Takes off standard thread as well as hollowtech/octalink.
Big spanner, big enough for headsets and BB tool like the one above (which I have).
    Chain breaker
    All sizes of allen keys
    Smaller sockets 5-10mm
    Mole wrench
    Hammer
    Pedal spanner
    Cone wrench
    Various adjustable spanners

Probably getting a large hacksaw tomorrow...

  • I'm after a freewheel extractor to fit this, preferably none too far from SE15 or Hackney:

    Also this Shimano cassette:

    Thanks!

  • Katie-Coo, if Upper St. is not too far for you, go to Micycle and ask to use theirs, they're very friendly and as I was asking same question a month ago noone in these ends had one.....

I have the cassette tool all day tomorrow in Highbury.

  • Katie, I've got that casette removal tool if you need it. I'm based by well street common/victoria park.

  • can anyone lend me a 7mm allen key for campag self extracting bolts and a campagnolo BB tool? north or east london. be a huge help, thanks.

  • I also need a campagnolo bb tool, but the splined kind.

  • I've got one that fits Records, Chorus, Centaur and Athena bottom brackets. N1, essex road.

  • Was just wondering if anyone has a chain whip and lock ring tool that I could borrow as soon as possible, the closer to Fulham the better.

I would need to take it home overnight and return it the next day - if that is okay. Let me know if anyone can do anything for me!

  • Doktor P would it fit the BB style in the picture. the FAG type? if so. that would be amazing, but i still need a 7mm allen key to take of the chain-set.

  • jakebrown: if you can get to holloway road i can lend you both.

  • the one in the picture looks like it's a Veloce, different tool I'm afraid

  • thanks anyway........i am still looking.......

  • Thanks lucky, my commute home is already 19 miles and getting to you would increase that to 35 so if nobody else offers before next weekend, I will take you up on that!
