It's just too easy, a bit like posting polo bikes. Can we stick to well used and abused track/tarck/road bikes please?
-
• #2958
i agree with this ^
although, you could post more sweet bmx bikes and we could post more polo bikes! ha.

It's not really a project, but just finished converting this to this:
Reason being, it got called a "nice road bike" and I just can't live with my beater being "nice".
I hardly use the gears in London, I think the one time I did was a 80km ride up to Herts, but obzly use the Aeron for those sorts of rides now.
It's big (64 c-t) and heavy but rides surprisingly well and I won't feel the slightest bit nervous about locking it anywhere.
Tips for making your bike equally ugly and hopefully London-proof: Keep the crappy old double chainset. Don't clean it. Cover it in green electrical tape and Tokyo Fixed stickers (no offence) including the border bits and pieces, slap on orange BMX pedals and hi-viz straps. White tyre, tape down the useless lever. Needs only one lock, if that.
Thanks to JontyBottomley for the wheel and Wicksie for the free tyre :)
Oh and 1000archangels for the bell. :) -

Where can I get the 'cyclists are a better ride' sticker?
-
• #2964
TF had them on the counter a while back.....

Could you not have just taken the other lever off?
could have, couldn't be bothered unwrapping the bars tho, and it adds to the antitheft nature....

^^^^^^^ That Cannondale, although Sledgendaryâ„¢ in it's appeal, seems to have worse components on it every time it's photographed. Da fuk is that saddle?!

I think that was Mo's working bike from a while back... I suspect he wasn't after hipster points at the time!
-
• #2972
is mo the guy with starbucks cup in the front wheel? if so, that's not his bike.

Thats LightblueJosh's old frame isn't it? Might be a Gazelle... regret not snapping that one up...
Actually, it looks too small for the owner... so if they want to swap it for a 1973 Raleigh Track frame... let me know...
-
• #2974
Correct - I bought it from lightbluejosh - I thought it was a Gazelle when I bought it, but it's since been verified as a Bob Jackson
Size-wise it's pushing close to the limit, but vintage track frames rarely have long enough top tubes - PM me with pics & measurements of your raleigh - might consider it. -
• #2975
Oh booooo... are you sure? I REALLY want it to be a Gazelle... how did you work it out?
Here is a pic of mine with some god awful bars/stem/grips combo and a seat thats far too low.
It's in similar condition to your frame, a bit beaten but hanging in there.... ha.
if bmxed is half as good as he is finding rat bikes there could soon be a shitstorm of bmx's (especially with such a forum name!)
