You're right, I am being "grumpy".
I don't need assurances. I can read. This isn't the first time someone I know has ended up in hospital, and in all likelihood, it won't be the last. Frankly, I'd like to think that 'this place' might be able to offer a little more than 'irreverent, jokey' support after someone has ended up in hospital.
Personally, I don't want to have to visit my friends in hospital, so if that means sounding like a cunt and telling them earnestly that they need to take a little more care, so be it.
