Thought I'd share my latest offering with my first fixie.
Purchased courtesy of JohnJ and its stayed pretty standard since, only upgraded to a Thompson Stem and Post and some Easton low risers.
Feel free to rate or slate!

Good choice of stem/post.
I'm always surprised how every Steamroller seems humungous compared with mine!
Not sure why but your presentation reminds me of this:

As should everyone!

That would make the game boring.
Anyway, I'm not having so much pleasure at the moment as the power transmission is creaking like mad. Refitting cranks & pedals have not solved the problem so far. Now I hope it is the BB needing a refit. Hope this to be solved soon, as I do need it, and have to go far distances.

Mine are off soon, to be replaced with RaceFace Cadence cranks.
Creek free assurances!

Had lots of fun in Charlie Bikemongers shop on the weekend. A steamroller will be mine on Saturday! Can't wait.

Had a blast a the BB today. Now BB, cranks and pedals have been redone - the cracking persists. If I pull/push on the cranks (not touching the pedals) the cracking can still be heard, which is then transmitted over into the frame. The square tapers and threads look all fine.
What now?

I have got a burning desire to build a steamroller with a carbon cross for commuting, winter training, occasional off road.
If anyone wants to sell a 59cm frame only, let me know.

BB bearings probably, but as they're sealed you'll have to try a new one.

They're sealed. They where mounted around last autumn and went on without problems until the first proper climb some time ago. Since then it creaks.
It can't be true such a cartridge can be so easily wrecked? Though it is some cheapish Shimano thingy being used here. I do ride hard too.

^^ indeed they are, well remembered young man!

un54? they have good reputation for longevity on here

That's about how I want it. Think the bearings in the back wheel are rough though.

That's what I have. Never really desbelieved it's longevity, though how many times do you ever have to mess around with them?
Might be just not tight enough yet. -

groomingWill see you there tomorrow, if the rain holds and the sessions on! Will bring the roller along as soon as I can too.

Curiously enough my BB seems to be creaking too. Cheap Shimano one I used to replace a 'cheap' Shimano one roughly a year ago. BB's are the one thing I will go to the LBS for, taking them out is simple enough. But I don't have torque wrench so I'm quite happy to let someone else do it.

Are your chain ring bolts tight enough? I have found this to be a source of creaking in the drive train in the past.

Going to consult a bike mechanic I trust. He'll sort that out no time.
