Digger almost falling off his Pinarello coming into the seating area at the cafe at Box Hill this afternoon, meeting up with other presumed forumengers.
I was doing the Croydon/BoxHill MurdochRide, which took many, many hours (five and a half!) to complete a 35 mile ride, as the main leader was sick and the standins were useless (30 mins to fix a straightforward puncture and a total of 90 minutes just waiting around).
I said "careful/steady/something-equally-banal" as you slipped, but was in the middle of a greasy sausage roll and otherwise distracted. Hope you made better time than we did.

Bit of a non-spot really, but the other day I rode past someone wearing shorts and a bright orange tshirt and just assumed it was mickmccarthy. Only after shouting hello really loudly did I realise it wasn't him. The shirt blinded me!
This can't have been Mick, as he only ever wears very heavy winter coats and thermal trousers.

Loads of riders out in Kent this morning/early afternoon. I'm sure someone must be on here. There was a guy with an orange and white top I met coming the other way on the pilgrims way on a bend near the Exedown climb, who looked kind of familiar.
I was wearing a black and red Campagnolo top, 3/4 length bibs and riding a white plastic Giant.
Fantastic ride - got a KOM and a few PBs and laid to rest the voodoo power that Exedown climb has over me! I only need to average 1.8mph faster to be up with Mr. BMMF (coz that's gonna happen...)

(forgot to start the lap for the first 10 miles - doh!)

So spotted a guy on a flat bar road bike with downtube shifters which was cool but what really confused me was the fact that there was no brake levers to be found and I'm quite worried lol. At parliament square btw. Also has anyone had a go on the 500m sprint at Levi's in promotion for their new commuter jeans?

^^you're two seconds off my sidcup hill time too, admittedly no longer KOM though :(

The amazing Joff on his ordinary heading east at the Tower of London, then a spokked black Dolan outside the design museum with clingfilm over its drivetrain, saddle and stem! Lots of shiny happy fixers around Jamaica Road this afternoon.

^^ That's quite an easy one, mind. I'm sure you could reclaim it without breaking too much of a sweat.
I'm after your crown on Point Hill in Greenwich! I haven't ridden it for ages and ages, but I used to train on it - 30 laps down Hyde Vale then up Point Hill. So it feels like I kinda own it. Only thing is that that was when I was young, fit and less fat. Might have to just let you keep it out of the goodness of my heart.

I did that on the way home from work with a lock and a bag on my back to digitally stick my tongue out at dubtap. had to take two runs because the first time I misjudged where the segment ended, so should be a pretty easy one to topple.
anyway, strava thread >>> -
