Hmmm.. Sounds like a JIS vs ISO problem.. JIS(and sometimes italian) headsets have a crownrace of 27.0mm, while normal ISO threaded ones have a diameter of 26.4mm.. One could coke can shim it, or other options widely available (some kind of cement), but not too advisable.. I'd say, measure the seat of the crown race, get a headset that fits.. Possibly you could get a crown race that would fit the bearings, but you'ld need to test it first..
