why the hell try and sell it to someone else?
are you stupid, a troll or just have no regard for others safety?
I would obviously sell it as a damaged frame. In good condition these frames go for 400 quid second hand, somebody might want to repair this one. I was just asking.

Here it is without the paint:
It's a little smaller than it may have seemed, but I suppose the whole sudden death thing is still on the cards.

repair and refurb costs are not worth it
bin, and buy another frame

It'd make a perfect turbo-bike, looking on the bright side.

Sorry if it has seemed like I have been ignoring everyone's advice, I really appreciate all the help.
I understand that it is well known that aluminium can suddenly break once it has a stress fracture, but where I'm coming from is the fact that there are probably thousands of people cycling around with tiny cracks like the one seen here that will never notice them, not everyone with an aluminium bike carries out routine inspections of their frame(in fact I would say hardly anyone does).
Also, I haven't been able to find one account online of an aluminium head tube that failed on a road bike. There is a lot less stress on the head tube than on other areas of the bike such as the down tube, chainstays & seat stays. Plus the fact that sudden catastrophic failures are extremely rare and as Sheldon Brown said head tube failures are relatively unheard of. That's why I have been reluctant to accept that it is a write off.
And now of course I feel like keeping it again after typing all of that! (But I won't)

My pic above of a jubilee clip was just a bit of fun, but there's heavy duty versions available, if you're gonna ride it, at least make some sort of attempt at safetyfication, maybe whap one of these on it. It'll probably be just fine...
These get used on turbo hoses and exhaust pipes

Damn, no room. I though there was space before but the weld comes right to the headset cup. Thanks though!

Regarding people not expecting their Alu bikes,. it's not as if they have been in mass production for that long (ignoring Vitus, Alan, etc). People should be inspecting their bikes, especially regular commuters and fast riders.
Are you going to drill a hole to try to stop the crack?

At least it's got a nice groupset..

Are you going to drill a hole to try to stop the crack?
I'm not sure how to go about drilling as the crack forks at the end. I suppose it would have to be 2 holes in line with eachother, one at the tip of each fork.

drill a few more holes and it will tear along the dotted line
