Thoughts with the poor person. Hope this isn't as bad as it sounds.
Mixed reports as to whether it is a cyclist or pedestrian accident.
-
• #4
air ambulance attended apparently
-
• #5
Cabbie in Aldwich told me cyclist
-
• #6
Twitter suggests could be either cyclist/ pedestrian
-

They've got a tent up at the scene :(

Poor bugger. RIP.
Another HGV. I don't know whether to be sad or angry...

RIP poor fellow cyclist. I am so very sorry your passing only merited a mention on the traffic reports rather than the news.

thoughts and prayers for the victim, family and friends.

The traffic on Strand/Aldwych was chockablock at around half 5 - 6PM today. I was wondering why ..
RIP rider.

RIP best wishes with friends and family

Use of a tent doesn't always mean it was a fatality.
Has anyone actually got any citation outside of the Twitter rumour mill? -

I cycled down embankment at about 7, we were diverted away from the river/incident and a policeman at trafalgar square said it was a fatality involving a cyclist and a lorry
not good!

Not to be rude but that is still hear say. The forum has always required a minimum of two pieces of citation from different reputable sources.
The best I can find at the moment in the jumble of twitter posted conjecture is this:
Kaya Burgess (Times) @kayaburgess Reply Retweet Favorite · Open
Metropolitan Police say person hit by HGV near Embankment was a pedestrian not a cyclist. Trying to get info on their condition. Sounds bad. -

Reported this as a cyclist death last night, a man in his 40s apparently. RIP fellow rider
-
• #18
ITV was incorrect. it was a pedestrain and it was a fatality.

Where'd you get the information from Texas?
I've been trying to confirm all day. Multiple reports of the fatality but I can't get firm evidence on the person involved. Not that the above matters to the victim. My condolences to the their friends and family.

I went past there yesterday and saw the road cordoned off. From the look of it he was knocked down in the middle lane so was probably overtaking when the accident happened and failed to look behind.

Not the place for conjecture here Goldsword. Circumstances are not discussed in a rider down thread.
We have no details and probably never will. Family and friends will read this thread and your post while not intended in this way, could be hurtful to them.
