I've never really seen the reason for the differentiation in values between oil and other mediums. However, if you spend 75, I wouldn't want another 3 to exist, some of which are considered better than the one you bought.
Having said that, it wasn't that much for a very significant work, and compared to contemporary art, a large Warhol or such, is a "less volatile investment" (can't belive I just wrote that). However I would definitely prefer 10 of these http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=5520523 which went for an unbelievably low price a couple of months ago.
