Tourney: UK & Ireland Regional Euro Qualifiers - Newington - 2012/06/03

This really should be a two day round robin. This is qualifier and we have a shit load of teams. This is going to make the results in 7th place a real lottery. This would be a shame. Round robin is not possible unless we do more than a Leo sayer. if teams can only make one day then can they not play all there games that day then others can finish it off the next day. So it's a round robin. The results don't lie. Otherwise it's going to be seeded and there will be some bad feeling at the end for some. Round robin you cannot hide. For people that want to go to the euros it seems a shame that people want to rush it over in one day.

I'd really like to get the most accurate way possible. I'm concerned that we feel it's necessary to do this over one day with this amount of teams.

You could do all the out of towner's games on the one day, and the finish off any all-London clashes left over on the second day, t'would be fairer on the travellers.

If you have that concern, please take it up with your rep, but this was voted in at the meeting, and and such that decision should be respected.

I've come up with a format which will allow for a very accurate mid table, on two courts, one day. I'll announce details of that once we have the final team list (the exact details depend on the number of teams).
