the gear shifter cable is a bit stretched/out of alignment as I put a new chain on which changed the position in the rear dropouts so it's a bit temperamental when shifting but it's totally rideable if you leave it in gear.
I can ride it to the pub tonight so you can have a no-obligation look/test ride. it's only about 600m from my house to the pub so not a problem at all even though I'm still basically an invalid* at the moment.
