Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can help me identify this frame which has been painted to look like a bianchi... sadly.
Its original colour seems to be metallic red, it has lovely lugs and a unique looking seat stay, seat clamp junction.
The dropouts are stamped with BREV CAMPAGNOLO vertical and seem to be the 1010/1 type http://campagnolo.wikispaces.com/Dropouts
The numbers 1617 seem to be stamped into the bottom bracket and it has 3x cable guides along the top tube with mudguard eyelets.
Any help great fully appreciated.

hey, the esbal? it's not that special as it has a pressed steel brake bridge...I converted one about 4 months ago, they are somewhere 70/80's east german possibly? the one I did had braze ons everywhere, really like yours, though this one had finishing line chequers every where which made it look quite sporty, pretty round blade forks though it was sort of heavy, yours looks ok, though hey it was cheap enough. it will do what you need it to.

hi all,
i rescued this frame and want to get it sprayed but would like to know what frame it is and hopefully find out if its reynolds or columbus (bike shope seems to think the later)
it has campag dropouts and really nice deck of cards cut into the fork lugs, with clubs cut into the lugs on the frame, the brake holes are modern hex nut fitting so i assume its a 90s ish frame,
frame number is 141877A, does this clue help anyone?
any suggestions appreciated,
thanks

I'm after a replacement freehub for a set of old Campag Ventos. I'm not sure of the year, I'm guessing around early 90's? I bought a new ITM freehub off ebay, but it's about half a millimetre too wide. You can see it against the orignal part in the second and third photos. (ITM on the left, original on the right)
LBS doesn't stock campag parts, Evans' supplier only stocks recent parts. I've trawled ebay for a couple of weeks and found nothing suitable. At this point I'd even consider replacing the hub, though I can't seem to find one with 20 holes! Please help!!
don't despair so readily.
If campag are anything like shimano, then there will be a bunch of other freewheels that will fit it. Swapping the hub out for the sake of that seems overkill to me.
Is it the bearings that have gone or the actual pawls? -

^^Have you considered CIOCC?
They have hearts, clubs and diamonds on their logo

I have one Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra frame. Do you think you can help me having some
information about it?I believe this was a ex-team frame because of the small ring to put
the number.Meaby the sticker with "De Jonghe" is the name of the racer. The steel
sticker is missing...The serial number is D 3264 B.
I allredy tryed the shop of the sticker in Belgium and no reply, Gita bike says me the factory doesn't have any information about old frames, I've tried also the owner of the website http://www.cadre.org/Merckx/ but no reply
Thanks.

Thanks Rik, that looks promising but from the photos I see of Ciocc frames most of them seem to have panto'd parts on the frames saying Ciocc, such as on the top of the seat stays near the seatpost.......?
I have emailed Ciocc with the frame number, not too much confidence they will get back to me, but you have to try.
It might help with further photos so will upload some more tomorrow
Thanks for your help

You're right about the pantographing - a quick google image search showed only a couple of ciocc's that didn't have pantographed seatstays - and the fork crowns were all sloping ones with the 4-leafed clover containg card suits - so if it is a Ciocc it may be older than you think - or perhaps one of the lower-end italian-market jobs.
If Ciocc don't get back to you there's bound to be people posting serial#'s on the web - try searching for those
Why did the LBS think it's columbus? was it just the seatpin diameter not 27.2mm or do they have another way of determining it

I acquired a track bike as part of a job lot and would like to identify the maker/brand and age. There's no headbadge - just two holes where the screws would go. Anyway, details:
Weinmann Type 500 front brake fitted with GB Superhood Rapide lever; SR stem; 3ttt mod. competizione made in Italy bars; "equipped with Dura-Ace shimano" and "guaranteed built with Reynolds 531 forks and s..."labels on seat tube; SR Laprade seatpost with Brooks Colt saddle; SR Royal fluted cranks; Kyokato toe-run pedals with Galli stirrups; Sakae SR chainwheels; Campagnolo quick release skewer at the front with Campagnolo Record hub; BH Airlite made in England rear hub double-fixed 14 and 16; Mavic GP4 rims. Underneath the seat tube (underside bottom bracket) is carved Ti (also G61).
Any info about age or maker would be much appreciated

My friend has an old road frame (which he has since converted to fixed).
It seems to be nice tubing, nice lugs (see pictures), wrap around stays, campag drop outs etc. British standard.
Serial number on frame (and fork) is 536.
It didn't have original paint or head badge when he got it.
Any ideas?
Pictures:
Excuse the low quality!

^ Brian Rourke might be a reasonable place to start - the wrapover stays are typical of rourkes, and the use of spearpoint lugs (Bocama or prugnat perhaps) ...
There was one with serial# 51 on Retrobike - looks to be a similar design (pic below).
I think Brian Rourke are quite helpful and may be able to confirm/deny playing a part in this. -

just picked this bike up on Friday night - can't find anything online.
the decals on the down tube said "GRAND PRIX" but it's not a raleigh (AFAIK).
logo on the headstock looks like this:i'm stumped, and dying to know who made it. estimated as being from the 70s.

out of the box for the first ride. Pretty and light. Pretty light.
OK, I know it needs a new saddle and bar tape, but can anyone here tell me something on the origin of the frame. Thanks.

I've just won this on eBay, thinking that it'd definitely go for above £80.
(set a justsnipe up on it yesterday evening and forgot)
Now I'm thinking that the reason it went for so low could have been because people were suspicious that it was just any old frame powder coated (not sure what that orange is about) with a few Moser decals on it.
I'm not sure whether the photo helps, but I've asked him for a few more photos before I pick it up on Sunday.
From what I can identify, it has the same dropouts as these two Mosers.
