  • Went to dentist two weeks ago, got a cavity filled. Had to remind dentist that the original reason for my visit was having broken one of my molars in half 3 weeks previously, and that he'd said he could put a temporary filling in for me while I wait for referral for an extraction. Temporary filling fell out completely this morning while brushing my teeth (at least that means I must have been doing it right).

    Questions:

    1. Temporary fillings are supposed to last for longer than 14 days, yes?
    2. When I go back will he charge me for re-doing it? He didn't originally charge me for the cavity filling and the temporary filling, only for the cavity filling

Extracting the molar myself is impossible as it's only partially-erupted, before anybody suggests it. Also I am too much of a pussy to try.
