Old Dawes are notoriously hard to date and identify. As you may can see from the pics it's a large frame with what looks like fairly relaxed touring style geometry.
The red torch head badge and quality of the lugs suggests it's was a high-end frame from the late 60's or early 70's. The head badge seems to have got plainer by the mid-70's and by the late 70's the design completely changed. Would be very happy to hear from anyone who recognises this frame or has any more detail of it's heritage.
The metallic brown/bronze paint work and chrome is in surprisingly good condition. Still very eye catching at a glance but on closer inspection there are surface rust specs in the chrome and pock marks here and there throughout. Structurally the frame is completely sound and true, clearly been very well looked after in its life.
Personally I would just build it up and run it as is rather than trying to restore or respray.
