If you're using one of the bigger bags and a bagman support there's no problem - I've never had any issues. Those weird seatpost mounted rack things like in that pic don't look suitable for a classic Carradice of any size - maybe fine for one of their news styles, but not the originals.
That basically confirms my premise; it's a band-aid that wouldn't be necessary if the attachment points were moved back. Most of the older ones didn't use supports, and aesthetically the Bagman doesn't look right to me, pushes the Carradice too far back. Oh well.
