Birmingham Hardcourt Bike Polo Association is extremely pleased to announce the 2012 UK Championships!
Date: 30th June – 1st July 2012
Courts: Two adjacent outdoor boarded courts of 27x40m
**Format: Swiss rounds tbc, double elim. NS ruleset with unlimited goals. **Up and coming on Sunday morning
Teams: 2 out of 3 players MUST be from within UK polo community
We hope to do the UK proud with a quintessentially Brummie tournament. The courts are located less than 2 miles from the city centre and are extremely accessible from the main Birmingham train stations via cycle route. They are of a similar surface to London’s Newington courts and fully enclosed with fenced off space for secure bicycle storage. We also have official consent from the land owners and the local council so there is no danger of the tournament being cancelled or re-arranged - book your tickets now!
Due to our central location and cheap transport links, we hope for a high level of interest and aim to host as many teams as possible. Housing is limited however and those travelling the furthest will take priority, warehouse space is available for the remaining teams. For the moment, registration will remain uncapped. Teams MUST consist of at least two regular players from the UK polo community.

Friday
Self-organised throw-ins at Highgate Park (all Birmingham players will be a few miles away assembling the tournament courts) whenever you want to show up. Sometimes there are kids around, but they are generally civil and make way for polite polo players.
Birmingham players will roll by at dusk to pick anyone up who has arranged accommodation. (No warehouse accommodation on Friday night!)
Saturday
8.30am - biketrain, led by Hyperallah, leaves south Birmingham (for those staying Friday night).
9am - everyone at courts for registration, bike checks and briefing.
9.30am - Play commences.
7pm (latest) - Play finishes, bike train to the pub:
7.30pm - social drinking at The Spotted Dog
Sunday
9.30am - play commences
7pm (latest) - play finishes. Prizes/fond farewells.
