I've got a 705, I paid £150 for it second hand, it navigates for me extremely well.
I loaded on the Open Street Maps rather than purchasing the Garmin ones, and they work (so far) perfectly.
That said, I have issues with exporting routes from the Garmin Connect service onto the device once I have edited them which drive me flat out bat-shit insane.
I don't know, but I suspect, that this is a Garmin Connect issue however.
I would like to try the 800.
