  • updating my portfolio as i need to find work :(

  • Is derny training on tonight?

  • Yes - the calendar on the site is all up to date.

The track is shut from 18th July.

  • Looked at tomorrow's forecast. There's a possibility(!) it'll be dry, but the wind looks mental (16mph with 40mph gusts). What're the chances of getting to breathe some petrol fumes for a bit?

  • So difficult to say, unfortunately. If it is dry, a judgement will have to be made on the evening whether or not it's too windy to ride safely behind a derny. If the wind speeds are as you say then it's unlikely to be on.

  • As expected. Ta!

  • So, how's it looking? I need to plead with the office to get out early if it's a goer, so a heads up would be handy :)

  • Hope its on...Whats the wind like now? metcheck says 10mph winds..Gusts of 12

  • I'm working in a basement with about 4 feet of stone between me and the outside world, so I'm not exactly in touch either =/

  • I'm hoping it's on too... But I'm in Stockwell at the mo, and it's windy as hell.... If it's this bad in HH, i'd be suprised if its on.

  • Still over 2 hours to go so it might be ok then..

  • No harm in angling to get out early anyway. The ride home will inform me of the weather enough I guess. Plan sorted.

  • Check the HH twitter at 6:00!

  • It's quite blowy in my office in Brixton, but then I do have my fan on.

  • Hard life in tricky towers.

  • Just spoke with joseph and he is there already. Apparently very windy but they may still run it.

  • Just got back to Brixton from town - very gusty out there..what to do?

  • Yeah I didn't enjoy the ride home too much, and I've got a few hours of lifting boxes later this evening, so I'm going to give this one a miss. So annoying, what with it being dry and all. Might ride down on the road bike just to stretch the legs and see what's what though.

  • For all your weather needs, check the www.twitter.com/hernehillvel twitter feed. Also viewable from www.vcl.org.uk's side bar, and the brand new www.hernehillvelodrome.com website once it launches next week.

  • if it says this track is safe to surf, I guess it's safe to surf.

  • What was it like!?
Wind here was/is nuts, can't believe it was OK at HH?

  • It was double bastard windy. Double bastard hard work too.
Tonight I learned that deep section carbon wheels do not have a good working relationship with gail force winds.

Strong work from Tony & Joeseph on the dernys to keep it all in order.

  • Hoops posted up on Strava so it definitely went ahead.

  • I stopped by to watch the windy fun. Was surprised it went ahead, but no fatalities = all good!

  • the gusts were more head on rather than sideways so it didn't feel dangerous, just hard work.
