My life coaching costs extra, sorry.
I have taken some measurements.
Seatpost, centre to BB 52cm
Seatpost, centre to bottom 60cm
Top tube, centre to centre 57cmI'm not really sure what this means, firstly because I don't know mountain bikes, and secondly because I've never seen a bike with a BB 8cm up the seat tube before.
Suffice to say, it will fit you and all your loved ones like a glove with a curious feature that may turn out to be ultimately useless.

the question for me is..a new dolan frame..or this...hmmm...new dolan...or this...
ponders
-
• #19
i really really want to see someone walking around looking smug dragging this bike folded behind them
-
• #21
do those semi horizontal dropouts allow for a conversion to fixed wheel bicycle?

New Dolan frame, and then slowly spend ££££s building up a bike made by a fierce headbutting thug, with skinny tyres that won't like those potholes, against a rather unique frame that will eat up speed bumps, parklands, riverside tracks and that small space under the stairs? And from Saturday, none the less, no waiting around for all those bits you forget at the end of a build, straps, brake blocks, bar tape...*
Is there really any comparison?
*This bike does need bar grips, unless you want the 'folding Sir Chris' bare bars look

I do feel i need such a beast as my current frame rattles even when i cycle on perfect smooth tarmac and by the sound of things, this monster would just shred it all up

Fuck, I forgot to mention that key selling point. Semi-horizontal (albeit rather shallow) dropouts mean this could be a folding fixie all terrain slave bike. You heard it here first...before it was cool.

I KNEW IT.
dibs.
not really.
I know, it's difficult. You want a new bike, you've seen all those chaps carrying their Bromptons around looking all cool, and you've decided that's what you want for yourself. But wait - are those tiny wheels really going to take it when you bunny hop off the pavement? What happens when those mean kids from the estate round the corner shout 'WHEELIE!' again and this time they mean it?
Introducing...
The Rudge Bi Frame folding mountain bike...
LAUGH as your friends say 'why the fuck would you want a folding mountain bike?'
SAUNTER onto the Overground with it at any time, knowing your friends with their non-folding bikes will have to wait till peak time's over
SHRUG when someone asks you 'but is it safe?'
The frame is a lovely colour, and it's reasonably well equipped as well.
Suntour Accushift XCE derailleurs and gears (3x7)
SR Sakae 'Ovaltech' Biopace-style chainrings
Joytech hubs/Araya rims
Dia-Compe levers and cantis
Devilish saddle angle
The bike is in great condition. Knowing the size of my sister's boyfriend, who gave it away to my parents, it's barely been ridden. The freewheel is still in great shape and all the gears shift nicely.
If I'm completely honest, It doesn't exactly fold up neatly:
Although if you could do it less cack-handedly than that if you were to loosen the stem. Then it would actually fit really well into a small car boot. It's also not the lightest.
The bike is currently located in Cheshire, but if you're seriously interested I can bring it on the train and you can meet me with it at Euston on Saturday.
Second-hand Bromptons seem to go for around £600, so considering how much beefier and more adventurous this bike is, let's say we start at around £120.
