After checking on wikipedia, I think the long wheelbase was introduced in 2004 not 2002, my bad... I agree the tube diameter is the same, but the hinge is different (I remember reading somewhere that it was actually the new design of the hinge that allowed to increase the wheel base) and I was under the impression that the round opening within the hinge was of a smaller diameter on the old hinge, hence my question. On my one, old model, the opening inside the hinge is roughly 32mm (I don't have a vernier caliper with me now). Can someone check on their newer brompton if bigger?
