Your court was ace - just board two sides for refs/spectators/access. It'd be a shame to cut it down in size as that's a big asset (along with the surface). If the lighting is okay, why not hold a fall/winter invitational to get things going and make it reasonably easy on yourselves (as you don't have the numbers yet to run a bigger event)? Or maybe a winter league in which you rotate/host different cities and work through to a finals weekend?
