For Sale: Condor frame, campagnolo derailer

Posted on
    1. Condor frame and fork. I picked this up the other day but plans have changed and i need to sell it. Text from the original thread from sswinton -

Condor (?) 56cm. 531 Double Butted from 70's perhaps. Campag dropouts, long point lugs, wrap over seat stays, sloping fork crown, mudguard eyes and built for 27" wheels. This is a handsome frame mistreated by it's current owner. Fair amount of rust but not deep and a Mavic sealed bottom bracket because the threads in the frame are knackered.

Just looking to get back what i paid for it, £Provisionally sold to photoman

    1. Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport rear derailleur. Heres the link to the original thread

  • potential potential condor dibs

  • I think you'll find that I have already dibs said bicycle

  • Awesome

  • photos of frame added

  • un-dibs, thanks

  • From what I understand this was listed originally as a 'Condor?' When I questioned sswinton he could not confirm it was actually a Condor due to the absence of a frame number and the decals being partially/ fully handpainted.

  • Thanks, might just send him and email and check. He had owned it for near on 20 years so his memory was a bit foggy. Anywhere in particular to look for the frame number?

  • un un dibs dibs

  • I must have bought this frame in the early nineties. It came from a cycle jumble and was bought to replace a frame broken in action for Streetwise Couriers. It served me well until I got a job indoors mending bikes for Evans. It had sporadic use until a ten year stretch in the cellar/garden shed. I think it is a Condor and it shares features with the Condor Italia of the 70's. The Condor decal on the head tube is genuine and the Condor logos on the down tube are either touched up or hand painted. Attacking the bottom bracket shell with a wire brush may reveal a frame number but they only had 4 digits in the old days. Anyone better informed on Condor history?

  • Price drop

  • Have emailed Condor to ask for identification of the frame via bottom bracket number and a picture. To quote them, " What a lovely frame. We can confirm that this is a 70's Condor"

  • Lovely frame.

If it was the right size I'd have it in a heart beat.

Maybe change the title to include "rat" and "beater" and the low price, I'd guess a lot of your market are going to see Condor and assume they can't afford it.
