  • Theeeeeeyyyyyy'rrrrrreeeee gggggggrrrrrrrrrreat!

Have they made Tony fatter to make the obese kids feel better about themselves?

  • I went to Salt Yard last week. I booked it after seeing the Masterchef where the hopefuls had a go at making the tortilla, and it looked like a good place to try.

Really enjoyed it. Best tapas I've had I think.

    Highlights for me were:

Chargrilled Iberico Presa with Whipped Jamon Iberico Butter - it had this salty crust that added a whole new dimension, although I definitely didn't get enough as my newly omnivorous girlfriend thought it was so good she ate most of it before I got a look in!!

Carpaccio of Tuna, Marinated Aubergine, Baby Broad Beans and Crispy Capers - one of the few occasions I have enjoyed aubergine, not normally a fan.

Courgette Flowers stuffed with Goat's Cheese and drizzled with Honey - the goat's cheese wasn't too intense and the honey was perfect with it.

Dessert of Home Made Cantucci with Bitter Chocolate and Pistachio Fudge was delightful. The cantucci had fennel seeds, it was crispy and crunchy, and was quite aromatic, but the fudge was definitely the highlight. This creamy, oozing fudge that coated my tongue but just managed not to stick to the roof of my mouth or my teeth. It would have been too sweet but this perfect dusting of bitter chocolate brought the flavour to just right.

    Salivating while thinking about it.

  • Went to The Drapers Arms last night, had a lovely potted Crayfish, adn then pigs cheeks crispy ear and champ. Lovely

Salt Yard is ace, you tried Copita or Barrica (know the guys behind them) both good

  • Don't know either but I will have a look now you have recommended.

  • Not sure how my niece and nephew will react when I explain Peter Rabbit and Bambi are in Friday night's pie.

No doubt you'll be your usual tactful self
(Don't forget to mention to them that santa doesn't exist, and the tooth fairy ... )

  • I love the orange bitch tits

  • Carcasses have been stripped, and boiled down for a little longer

    Jelly made with the bones

    Meat has been collected

now softening 3 types of mushroom with garlic

Am planning to layer the pie, some of the meat and the jelly at the bottom, a layer of mushroom and garlic, and then some of the meat with double cream above.

Pastry on top and finish off in the oven.

  • what time shall i come round?

  • spotter, u iz alwaiz wlcum

  • Had very nice Dim Sum here yesterday -

    http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/52/763298/restaurant/London/Chinatown/Leongs-Legends-City-of-Westminster

Standouts were Xiu Loung Bao which I haven't seen anywhere else and the Belly Pork and rice (not Dim Sum but still great)

I love Dim Sum. Does anyone else have any recommendations? Have tried Royal China and Yauatcha both of which I rate highly, Ping Pong not so much and then had hit and miss experiences in Chinatown - Leongs Legends was consistently good.

  • just for CYOA

1st layer of meat and jelly with mushrooms on top

2nd layer with added double cream

  • has anyone made lasagna in their slow cooker? I was looking at recipes and it looks pretty interesting. I just can't tell if it's a good idea or not.

  • should be fine, one concern would be that if you used a normal oven recipe it would come out far too wet. due to the low heat water does not evaporate from a slow cooker in the way it does in a conventional oven

also trying to serve it from a crock pot may be difficult (much deeper than a normal lasagne dish)

  • I was kinda thinking it was a chance to have epic layers, and I would definitely cut back on the liquid.
It would be a really easy way to make lasagne as vegan, then put cheese on top of half of it and crisp it in the oven.
Hmm. I'm salivating. I think I better have a go.

  • just for CYOA

1st layer of meat and jelly with mushrooms on top

2nd layer with added double cream

I'm making whatever noises this face could produce:

  • The Lamb pub on Holloway road are serving Big Apple hot dogs, just a heads up for any meat eaters in the area.

  • just had meat and avocado

  • halfway through i got a meat headache from the pie

the condition has deteriorated to meat coma

pics to follow when i get off the life support machine

  • We're here for you.

  • Going to Franco Manca in Brixton Village tomorrow night...

Am I right to be getting as excited about it as the hype is making me? And if so, any recommendations on pizza choice?

  • Yeah, it's good.

    Get a pizza...

  • Just had a big pole from the BAH at Camden Brewery. Was decent.

  • Kris?
