Can you get a C- Bag to work with the flat bar Brompton? I know your not meant to but I'm sure I've seen a few people using them.
How much are you wanting for the S-Bag Deluka, I might be interested

The cables rub on the handle of the C bag when you put it on a S bar bike and over time will damage them. Wrap a bit of leccy tape around the cable outer and it'll be fine.

As it turns out I don't need the longer seatpost. I went into Putney Cycles and got re-measured and it turns out I don't need to tweak anything. Perhaps its just my knee being funny again.
The guy in the shop also pointed out my pedal was looking a little loose. Typical really since he mentioned it yesterday I have noted it get looser over the course of a day. Rather than getting the standard pedals I was thinking of getting some touring pedals, the ones with SPD on one side, and a platform on the other side. Is anyone else using such a pedal on their brompton? I was thinking the Shimano PDM324
Any other recommendations or gotchas I need to be aware off?
I have a pair of these if you want them. My g/f used them once and doesnt like them and just wanted normal pedals.

The toolkit above, I am wondering if it would work on pre-2002 bromptons where the hinge is slightly different...

You could probably bodge a tool kit with small tools in a fabric tool roll with enough additional fabric to give a snug fit.
I'd be tempted to use a saddle bag instead; if I'm carrying tools I'll be carrying inner tubes.

I think they only changed the wheelbase a bit, so the diameter of the main tube didn't change. Still not word on when these toolkits will be available.
I use a lezyne tool bag which tucks nicely in the righthand pocket of the c-bag.

The faff with a brompton is the 15mm spanner needed for the wheel nuts, but they're more common on fixies I think.
I've just ordered a set of marathon pluses, as I picked out about 60 odd glass and flint fragments out of my original brompton green tyres. Bromptons get a lot of wear and tear, as the drive train is so low to the ground, plus the back tyre takes a lot of weight. -

Fasih I might have a spare brompton pump you can have. I think I still have the one that came with my last brompton that was stolen.
I also have oury's on my S type and they fit fine, I am however about to replace them with Ergon GR2's in a comfort>vanity move.

After checking on wikipedia, I think the long wheelbase was introduced in 2004 not 2002, my bad... I agree the tube diameter is the same, but the hinge is different (I remember reading somewhere that it was actually the new design of the hinge that allowed to increase the wheel base) and I was under the impression that the round opening within the hinge was of a smaller diameter on the old hinge, hence my question. On my one, old model, the opening inside the hinge is roughly 32mm (I don't have a vernier caliper with me now). Can someone check on their newer brompton if bigger?
Now, I was talking to John this morning... WE NEED TO DO A (or ANOTHER?) BROMPTON RIDE!
Who's in?
I can think of at least 8 people I know that have one on the forum, there must be plenty more...

in if available

Me too.
On another note I changed grips today to some Ergon GR2's and they are the nuts. Doesn't affect the fold on my S2L either, even with the stem extension.
Loic I'll check the tube diameter for you when I get home, I haz calipers

in if available~~Mmh... Would not mind so much doing this but I am unexperienced at organising rides... Would need someone to assist for the route...
What about monday 7th May, day after the Tweed Run, I believe it's a bank holiday...
Let's see if this find some interest here before starting a thread in the proper section.

Fuck fuck fuck, I am already out of the ride that I had not even started to organise, just discovered a crack on my brompton frame!! ARGHHHH!!!
-
• #544
have a chat with your dealer / a dealer, Brompton are pretty good at frame crack warranty claims, though you'll need to send the B back to Brompton via your dealer. I had a good experience with On Your Bike, though ymmv.
Even old ones, thought pre 2004 might be a bit of a stretch -
• #545
MMh, on brompton website it says frame warranty is 5 years... My one is from 1992... I don't feel very optimistic about this... Will check of course!

Hope it all works out well, a '92 one is pretty early on
I use Aliums. Wouldn't go back to non-clipless, and you soon work out a way of carrying it folded without the non-driveside pedal bashing your leg too much (although Aliums have no bitey 'cage' to speak of).
