Allow me to step in a pour bilious negativity onto things by pointing out that either some hipster-student-flake won't show up or some even bigger hipster-student-flake who isn't on the list will show up and flip things up.
But if either of those scenarios don't come true, then teams of three sounds good. Or maybe try your weird/confusing shuffle pattern Hyper? It becomes a bit of a ballache shuffling games when there's 8/10/11 people of differing levels.
