• It's got track ends but also a rear mech hanger, drilled for both brakes.

i think this is because it was designed for use in time trials where you may wish to ride fixed or geared. in terms of value, i've seen similar go on here for around £200.

  • Thanks a lot, I suspected as much. I was thinking with the 731 and track ends it would be worth more like 300, like many of the high end track bikes that go on here. Everyone hopes this though right?

  • 200 seems a bit low for that yes

  • maybe my estimate was a bit low - i guess that the fact it was built by rourke and has track ends, combined with the tubing might command a premium.

either way, it's a nice frame!

  • 200 seems a bit low for that yes

Cheers for the advice Spotter, it can be kind of difficult to work out these things where there is little reference. I always kind of imagine it being drilled for both front and back brakes would reduce the price somewhat, track fanatacism and all that.

  • well its not really a track bike is it? it looks to be in excellent condition which boosts the value

  • No, you're definitely right, while it was used on the Manchester velodrome for many years I'm pretty sure it was designed to be able to switch between track and TT. I recall it raced in the GB pursuit team up there at some stage. I haven't yet had time to whack a pair of wheels on it to check out the clearances, but I would imagine they're pretty tight. Thanks a lot for the input, I appreciate it.

  • If you ever do sell it make sure to take a photo of it on wheels against a neutral background

  • hello there
how much could i ask for this bike ?

the frame is chromed underneath the paint, the fork is an undrilled columbus max

  • Shameless bump.
Need some rough estimate on the worth of it.
It has a Columbus sticker on it, approx 56cm (there's 56 stamped on the frame too), italian BB, Campagnolo drops/forkends.

    Afternoon!

I have recently put my hands on a Vicini road frame.
Would someone be kind enough to toss me a rough price-worth of it?

  • between 80 and 100, I would say maybe a bit more

  • Hi
Is £400 too expensive for a 7 yr old dawes 631 steel sardar?....
    decent condition
    shimano deore sti gears
    mavic wheels
    wtb saddle
    textro brakes
    ritchey stem

  • I you'd asked me, I'd have guessed £300, but I'm not familiar with the model. How much new?

  • £700 sounds like an awful lot yes

  • no idea but for comparison my dawes sadar frame cost me £60

  • What about a wheelset?

Phil Woods hubs (36H BMX, so 100mm/110mm front/rear), NOS Araya 700 rims, White Industries 18T Trials freewheel, Kenda Small Block 8 700 x 32 tyres. Wheels had around 30 miles use, freewheel around 5.

Parts cost £500 - how much to sell for?

  • what frame did u run those wheels on?

  • what frame did u run those wheels on?

Pompino and Claude Butler track but not for long, they are barely used. They mount fine on a steel (springy!) 120mm frame, but I wouldn't use them on an aluminium 120mm.

  • Thinking about selling my old Klein quantum..but have no idea what to price it at - would welcome some help pls.

    Think its late 80s
approx 57cm c-c / black paint / a couple of paint blisters near shifter bosses and cable guides on tt. but generally very useable paint. Carbon forks

    Headset - ritchey
    stem - deda..
Wheels - chorus hubs (I think!) on omega rims / 7 speed block
rear mech - chorus - couple of scratches
frt mech chorus - very good condition
    chainset - chorus
brakes - mirage - exc condition
ergos - veloce - some scratched but ok
    seat post - stronglight
seat - fizik - leather small tear in front
bars - cinelli - pretty scratched near stem
bar tape - btwin - good nick
cables - all campag - 6 months old

iphone pics not the best - should get some better ones

    Thanks

  • How much would people think a 2011 Fuji track classic would be worth as full bike? With a new deep section rear wheel and new carbon forks? It's got a few marks here and there from locking up etc but it's in pretty good nick. Was just wondering because I'm considering moving abroad for a year or two and wanted to know if it would help towards the cost of that much, or whether I should just lend it to my brother for a bit.

  • SRAM Apex shifters and front and rear derailleurs, all in perfect working order, some minor rub marks to the paint (black surface finish on Apex).

Currently on my CX bike, shift cables included (cut to fit 58cm Boardman Cross bike).

What do people think that's worth?

    (£260 new from Fudge)

  • is £700 excluding shipping a good price for a Look Carbon HR road bike with 9 speed Campagnolo Veloce group set?

  • How about a rough Claud Butler track/path frame with a crappy modern fork?

The best info I can find to date it (from the excellent http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nkilgariff/ClaudButler.htm) is that it is a 1954 Claud Butler World Championship Sprint. It has the wrapover seat stays, round to oval to round pencil chainstays, the CB World Championship sprint lugs, reinforced end plates to the seat stay bridge, (all shown in the 54 catalogue http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nkilgariff/CBcats/Cat_54/CB1954_Cat.htm), appears to be 531 (27.2 seat tube and is light). Unfortunately also needs a strip and paint due to various bit of surface rust, and has been fitted with a crappy alu fork. Someone must have loved it in fairly recent times and it has a Campag chorus BB & Headset and Campag seatpin.

I'm no Claud Butler expert though so if anyone knows better?

  • pretty much everyone asks nobody answers i say we return to porn thread trolling:D

  • Is there a market for NOS track stuff? I've just bagged a lovely pair of Mavic Module rims with Maillard high flange flip flop (double fixed) track hubs. The wheels came with NOS Michelin Select 700x23c gumwall tyres. The hubs are dated 1986. I know they're not high end but they are very nice wheels.

I've just spent the last couple of days polishing them and they look stunning IMO. I'd feel really guilty about going out and trashing them TBH.
