  • Skidding does not put any extra strain on the rim, compared to standard use. There is a maximum strain point where you are resisting, yet the tyre still has traction. Once the skid starts and traction is lost. The strain drops considerably.

    I doubt you can resist your pedals with more force than you could pedal them. If you then consider carbon rims are often ridden up bloody steep hills, by bloody strong cyclists using a 34:25 ratio. I really cant see how the force transfered by pulling a bit on the pedals even compares.....
