Dear Sirs
Due to recent deveIopments, I would like to respectfully request a tipi without sexual deviants.
Kind regards

Something to consider for day trippers (or anyone really) - if you got the car ferry from portsmouth to fishbourne, you'd be less than a mile away from the kite hill start point.
It's just round the corner from the passenger ferry terminal (catamaran) and takes about 15 minutes longer to cross, but it'd save you riding the 9 or 10 extra miles from ryde pier head to wootton and back. Passenger tickets should be interchangeable and you can get hot food and drinks on the car ferry for the way home.To add...make sure you get your ferry tickets before the day, wightlink now charge a £10 'booking fee' if buying from the ticket office

Would prefer to. So long as hills not too steep and long
its no biggie providing youve done a few long rides on fixed, the southern bit of the island has a couple of drags but nothing you riders of fortitude and many miles in the legs cant dispatch.

so when do we pay?
is there a group buy for getting there? Is there a group heading down together?
what clothes/pjs are needed during non cycle time? (never been to th IoW)

From last year's thread (unfortunately posted after the event, as I didn't realise until after).
You can buy a groupsave to Ryde, including the ferry, for £165. This is £41 return each for 4 and this is cheapest unless you book trains way in advance. Also gives you flexibility as you don't have to travel on particular trains or ferries.
Also avoids this outrageous new booking charge.

So Pete, whos organising it?
;-)
-
• #43
Do you need to go to the station to buy the groupsave or can you do it online?
-
• #44
Either, less bother online though. Do remember that when you're groupsaving you do need to keep the group together for the journey on the ticket - nobody can jump off early as it leaves the rest open to massive fines from jobsworth ticket inspectors. Can't see that being a problem for this though.
Not me Iain, I'm not going ;)
